We have been Covid free since lockdown in March 2020 due to the hard work and diligence of all our staff.  We have been working hard following government guidance, which has been changing very fast, and implementing new protocols in the home.

All residents and staff have received their first dose of the Covid vaccination.

Working Safely

We track and follow government guidance. Staff don Type IIR surgical masks and other PPE. Both staff and residents undergo regular testing in line with government guidance.

An external sink has been installed just outside the staff entrance so that staff can wash their hands before entering the Home.

A bedroom  has been set aside for staff to change into work clothes.

The Home is open to new admissions from the community, for both long term and respite care. New residents are required to self-isolate for two weeks in specific rooms set aside for this purpose to protect other residents.

Visiting Policy

All visits are by prior appointment with the office so that we can ensure staff are available to supervise safe visits.

We have commenced visits in the front porch which is an ideal space as it has both an external entrance door and a door into the Home. This space has been recently decorated and furnished for this purpose so that safe visiting can take place in all weather conditions by one nominated person from the resident’s family. All visits are risk assessed and supervised by staff. Visitors are tested using rapid Lateral Flow tests and are required to don the Home’s PPE and can hold hands with their loved ones.

Compassionate end-of-life visiting is allowed.

Only urgent visits by contractors are allowed; these are closely supervised and contractors must follow the Home’s policies, including donning PPE and respecting social distancing, while in the Home.

This policy is subject to change without notice and is dependent on advice of the local Public Health England and the Local Authority.

Staff Training

Staff have been trained in Covid-19 related work procedures and Infection Protection and Control procedures.

Covid-19 Risk Assessment

The Home and its procedures have been risk assessed and a comprehensive report produced.
