CQC Inspection on Infection Prevention and Control


Paxton Hall has remained Covid-19 free since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 and all staff and residents have now received their first dose of the vaccine.

Paxton Hall was inspected by the CQC on 29 January 2021.

Background to this inspection

As part of CQC’s response to the coronavirus pandemic it was looking at the preparedness of care homes in relation to infection prevention and control. This was a targeted inspection looking at the infection control and prevention measures the provider has in place.

We are pleased to inform you that following the inspection, CQC were assured that Paxton Hall was:

>  promoting safety through the layout and hygiene practices of the premises

>  compliant with shielding and social distancing rules

>  admitting people safely to the service

>  using PPE effectively and safely and in keeping with Government guidance

>  accessing testing for staff, residents and all individuals using the service

>  ensuring infection outbreaks are effectively prevented and can be managed

>  taking all relevant precautions to prevent visitors from catching and spreading infection

In addition, CQC was assured that Paxton Hall’s infection prevention and control policy was up to date and fully compliant.
