Carers and caregivers who look after a loved one full time often need a break from their daily, stressful routines. Respite care aims to give carers a much-needed break to rest and focus on their own health and wellbeing. From catching up with sleep to exhaustion throughout the day, caring for someone is a full-time responsibility and trying to do these things while compromising your own well-being only makes the situation more difficult.
We understand that the wellbeing of your loved one is important to you, and sometimes taking a break and restoring your life balance can do a world of good and benefit not only you but your loved one as well. Cleaning, cooking for and monitoring someone closely takes a lot of effort and can be exhausting and draining emotionally, mentally and physically.
You can rest assured that while your loved one is in our care, they will, like all our other residents, receive excellent personal care and attention, have their own private room, be provided with fresh home cooked meals using seasonal ingredients, have access to all the activities in the home and always be treated with utmost respect and dignity by all our highly trained staff.
We aim to make this period of respite as easy as possible for you and your loved one by undertaking all of your usual duties, offering support to the family and you, the carer, if necessary. Without the stress of daily care duties, you as the carer will be able to have a well-deserved break, rest and re-energise yourself, as well as regain any lost sleep, so you feel ready and able once again to care for your loved one when they return home after their stay at Paxton Hall.
