Saturday 19th December saw our Residents having fun at their special afternoon. Residents invited their families to come into Paxton Hall to enjoy special time with them just before Christmas. It was a lovely afternoon sharing chat and laughs over a nice cup of tea, coffee, sherry or soft drinks with mince pies and warm cherry scones from our own kitchen.
We played host to over 60 guests of our residents which made our home very busy but full of laughter and fun.
We were lucky enough to have our Christmas Raffle so full of prizes donated by staff, families and local businesses. It was fun seeing everyone’s faces as numbers and names were drawn from the raffle bowl. On the day we made over £100 from the raffle for our residents fund.
We also had a small shopping opportunity for our residents. A local lady came in with some pretty jewellery, Christmas cards and bows and some ladies make up. The residents seemed to love the chance to look at the jewellery. One resident said that she just didn’t know which necklace to buy as they were all so lovely.
It was a fabulous afternoon for everyone and speaking to residents since the event everybody really enjoyed themselves.
