Sunday 12th May saw residents of Paxton Hall enjoying their very own Street Party to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.
Our dining room was bedecked with bunting, balloons, flags and streamers as inclement weather stopped our outside party plans. There was lots of patriotic Red, White and Blue everywhere!
We all gathered for a fun afternoon tea of fancy sandwiches, wonderful homemade cakes and party food. We also enjoyed a fabulous birthday cake made and presented to our home by a member of the local Women’s Institute, complete with a sugar paste Queen on top!
It was a great way for our residents to have joined in the royal celebrations along with some of their own family members. One resident said that it had been a lovely party afternoon and the tea was absolutely delicious.
